Villa Pollensa

Villa Pollensa sits on the northern shore of Mallorca's most protected bay, where the Serra de Tramuntana meets the sea at the Cap de Formentor peninsula. The 3-acre estate runs from the coast road down to a private jetty on the bay, with the house positioned at the midpoint to capture views both inland to the mountains and seaward across the water to the Formentor lighthouse. Built in 2019 by a Palma architectural firm that specialises in blending Mallorcan vernacular with contemporary construction, the house uses local stone, Mallorcan shutters, and traditional roof tiles on a modern concrete frame. The ground floor opens directly onto a covered terrace that spans the full width of the house, functioning as the primary living and dining space for seven months of the year. Beyond the terrace, a 20-metre lap pool is flanked by a stone sun deck and a row of mature lemon trees. The pool house contains a sauna, a steam room, and an outdoor shower. Seven bedrooms occupy the upper floors and a detached garden pavilion. The master suite commands the top floor with a wraparound balcony, a dressing room, and a bathroom clad in Mallorcan stone with a soaking tub positioned at the window. Four bedrooms on the first floor each have sea views and en-suite bathrooms. The garden pavilion, set among the citrus groves, contains two bedrooms with a shared kitchen and living area - frequently used for staff, a nanny, or guests who want their own space. The private jetty accommodates boats up to 12 metres. The property includes a 7-metre Boston Whaler for day trips around the bay, to the beaches of Formentor, or to the seafood restaurants at Port de Pollensa, a 10-minute cruise along the coast. A skipper is available on request. The tennis court occupies a flat terrace behind the house, surrounded by oleander hedges. A resident chef prepares meals using produce from the estate's kitchen garden and the Port de Pollensa fish market. Pollensa old town, with its Sunday morning market and the annual music festival in the cloisters of Sant Domingo, is a 5-minute drive inland.
