Built from local sandstone and reclaimed pine, Villa Porto Cristo occupies a south-facing plot above the harbour with uninterrupted views from Cap des Pinar to the lighthouse. The design prioritises indoor-outdoor flow across three levels, with each bedroom opening onto its own terrace. A lower-level spa includes a sauna, cold plunge, and treatment room staffed by a visiting therapist on request. The three-level design takes full advantage of the hillside gradient. The upper level houses the living areas and kitchen, where a wall of folding glass doors opens onto the main terrace and pool. The middle level contains three bedroom suites, each stepping out to its own private terrace with harbour views. The lower level is given entirely to the spa and a covered outdoor lounge that catches shade from midday onward - the perfect retreat during the hottest part of a Mallorcan afternoon. The spa was designed with input from a Barcelona wellness consultant. The sauna is Finnish-style, built from sustainably sourced cedar, and the cold plunge pool is maintained at 10 degrees year-round. The treatment room can be booked with a visiting therapist who offers Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massage. There is also an outdoor yoga platform on the lowest terrace, cantilevered over the garden. Porto Cristo itself is one of eastern Mallorca's most appealing harbour towns. The restaurant scene has improved markedly in recent years, with several seafood restaurants now sourcing directly from the morning boats. The Coves del Drac - a network of underground caves with a subterranean lake - are a 10-minute walk from the property and worth visiting once, particularly with children. The property's concierge can arrange boat charters from the harbour for day trips along the eastern coast. The water here is cleaner and less trafficked than the more popular west coast, and the calas (coves) between Porto Cristo and Cala Millor offer some of the island's best snorkelling. A private chef can be arranged for stays of a week or more, and the kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a commercial gas range and a well-stocked pantry.
