Chalet Nogentil sits in Courchevel's Moriond (1650) village, which offers the same ski area access as 1850 without the price premium or the see-and-be-seen atmosphere. The property is designed for families: a games room with table football and darts, a cinema room, bunk rooms with custom-built beds, and a garden with enough flat ground for snowman construction. The Ariondaz gondola is a two-minute walk. Moriond is Courchevel's open secret. The village shares the same lift system and ski area as the more famous 1850 but at a different altitude (1,650 metres versus 1,850 metres) and with a markedly different atmosphere. Where 1850 is designer boutiques and fur coats, Moriond is ski shops and family restaurants. The skiing is identical - the Ariondaz gondola connects to the same network - but the daily rental cost is typically 40-50% lower than equivalent properties in 1850. Chalet Nogentil was designed with families in mind, and the details show. The bunk rooms are not afterthoughts - they are custom-designed spaces with built-in beds, individual reading lights, USB charging points, and curtains for privacy. The games room has table football, darts, a Playstation setup, and a stack of board games. The cinema room seats eight and has a well-stocked film library. The garden, unusual for a ski chalet, has enough flat ground for sledging, snowman building, and the kind of unstructured snow play that children remember long after the skiing is forgotten. Five bedrooms are arranged across two levels. The master bedroom has mountain views and an ensuite bathroom with a double vanity and a separate bathtub. Two rooms are configured as the bunk rooms described above, each sleeping three children. The remaining two rooms are standard doubles suitable for adults or older children. All rooms have underfloor heating and blackout blinds. The heated outdoor pool is a recent addition, installed in 2022. It is smaller than the pools in the mega-chalets of 1850 - approximately 8 metres by 4 metres - but it is heated to 34 degrees and surrounded by a sun deck that catches the afternoon light. A gym with cardio equipment and free weights occupies a lower-level room adjacent to the pool. The Ariondaz gondola, a two-minute walk from the chalet door, rises to 2,000 metres and connects to the full Courchevel ski area. From there, the 3 Vallees network extends to Meribel, Les Menuires, and Val Thorens. Moriond village has several family-friendly restaurants, a ski equipment rental shop (10% discount for chalet guests), and a small supermarket for essentials. A shuttle bus runs to 1850 every 15 minutes for those who want to explore the main village's restaurants and nightlife.
