Chalet Moriond

Chalet Moriond occupies an elevated plot in Courchevel Moriond (formerly 1650), the resort level that offers the best value in the Courchevel valley while providing full access to the Three Valleys ski domain. The chalet's position, on the hillside above the Ariondaz gondola, provides panoramic views across the Tarentaise valley to the Vanoise glacier - a view that rival properties in the trees at 1850 cannot match. The building, completed in 2021, is a contemporary alpine lodge rather than a traditional chalet: a flat-roofed, timber-clad structure with walls of glass on the valley side. The living space is arranged around a central kitchen island that doubles as a social hub, with the dining table on one side and the lounge area on the other, all facing the Vanoise panorama through 6-metre-high glazing. Six bedrooms include the master on the top floor with a wraparound terrace, and five bedrooms on two lower floors. All have en-suite bathrooms with rainfall showers and mountain views. A bunk room for children can sleep an additional four. The outdoor heated pool, maintained at 30 degrees throughout the winter, sits on the main terrace with the valley view. Swimming in warm water while snow falls around you, with the Vanoise glacier glowing pink in the sunset, is the experience that distinguishes this property. A jacuzzi, a sauna, and a steam room complete the wellness offering. The Ariondaz gondola is a 5-minute walk. Courchevel 1850 is accessible by piste in 3 minutes or by road in 8 minutes. Moriond's own restaurants and bars offer a more relaxed, less formal evening atmosphere than 1850, which suits groups who prefer a casual vibe.
