Chalet Aiguille du Midi stands at the base of the Aiguille du Midi telepherique, the cable car that ascends from Chamonix to 3,842 metres in 20 minutes, offering one of the most dramatic mountain rides in the world. From the chalet's main terrace, the Aiguille's granite spire rises directly ahead, with the Mont Blanc summit visible above and behind it - a view that no other property in the valley can match for proximity and drama. The chalet was built in 2018 as a homage to the golden age of alpinism, when Chamonix was the mountaineering capital of Europe. The entrance hall displays a curated collection of vintage ice axes, ropes, and expedition photographs. The living room features a 5-metre climbing wall - functional and graded, not decorative - that both children and adults use regularly. The library holds a collection of mountaineering literature from Edward Whymper to Joe Simpson. Seven bedrooms span three floors, each named after a Chamonix peak and decorated with topographic maps and summit photographs. The master suite, named for Mont Blanc, occupies the top floor with a glass wall facing the mountain and a private terrace for morning coffee with the sunrise on the summit. Bathrooms throughout use Savoyard granite and heated slate floors. The wellness area includes an indoor pool, a sauna, a hammam, and a massage room. An outdoor hot tub on the terrace provides the most spectacular location for post-ski soaking in the entire valley. The chef's menus draw from both the Savoyard and Piedmontese traditions, reflecting Chamonix's position on the Franco-Italian border. Local cheeses, cured meats from the Arve valley, and wines from the Savoie and Aosta Valley feature prominently. The Aiguille du Midi cable car is a 2-minute walk. Chamonix town centre, with its restaurants, bars, and shops, is 10 minutes on foot. The Vallee Blanche off-piste descent and the Mer de Glace glacier are both accessible from the cable car.
