Villa Saline brings architectural restraint to an island where bigger often wins. The three-bedroom house sits on the hillside above Grande Saline, the wild and beautiful beach at the southern tip of St Barts where development stops and nature takes over. The design is deliberately minimal - concrete, glass, and tropical hardwood assembled with the precision of a Japanese tea house. Every room faces the sea through frameless glass that slides fully open, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior. The living area is a single open volume that flows from kitchen to dining to lounge without walls or level changes. A cantilevered concrete overhang creates deep shade across the entire south facade, keeping interiors cool without air conditioning for most of the year. The pool is a dark-bottomed rectangle that reflects the sky and surrounding vegetation, set into a timber deck that serves as the villa's primary living space. Sun loungers, an outdoor dining table for eight, and a barbecue area are arranged around the pool. Below, a path through sea grape trees leads to Grande Saline in under five minutes on foot. Bedrooms are calm, stripped-back spaces with polished concrete floors, built-in timber beds, and ceiling fans. The primary suite has a freestanding bathtub behind a glass wall overlooking the garden. Two guest bedrooms share a separate wing with their own terrace. Grande Saline is clothing-optional, uncrowded, and backed by the salt ponds that give it its name. There are no beach bars or loungers for hire - you bring your own provisions. The villa is a ten-minute drive from Gustavia and close enough to St Jean to reach the airport in fifteen minutes.
