Villa Lorient occupies a generous hillside plot above Anse de Lorient, the family beach that St Barts residents keep for themselves while visitors crowd St Jean. The six-bedroom estate is arranged across three buildings connected by covered walkways and surrounded by tropical gardens - a configuration that works particularly well for multi-generational families who want togetherness without living on top of each other. The main house holds a large open-plan kitchen and living space, the primary suite, and a media room with cinema-quality projection. A separate children's wing has two interconnected bedrooms with an adjoining playroom, bathroom, and direct garden access - designed so that kids can be heard but have their own territory. The third building is a self-contained two-bedroom guest cottage with its own kitchenette and living area, ideal for grandparents or a nanny. The pool area is built for family life rather than Instagram. A shallow section for young children leads into the main 15-metre pool via a graduated entry. The surrounding deck is wide enough for supervised play without anyone ending up in the deep end. A trampoline and a swing set are tucked into the garden behind the pool house. Lorient beach is a three-minute drive or a ten-minute walk downhill. It has gentle waves, shallow water, and enough space that children can run without disturbing other beachgoers. The Lorient area also has a bakery, a supermarket, and a surf school - mundane amenities that become essential when travelling with children.
