Completed in 2023 to Swiss Minergie energy standards, Chalet Savoleyres is one of the newest builds in Verbier. The design favours clean lines and natural materials - oiled oak floors, limestone bathrooms, and a locally quarried stone fireplace. The south-facing sun terrace catches light from morning until late afternoon, and the property is a three-minute walk from the Savoleyres gondola, which accesses the quieter side of the 4 Vallees ski area. Minergie certification is Switzerland's most demanding energy standard, and achieving it in a mountain chalet requires thoughtful design. The triple-glazed windows, the 30-centimetre wall insulation, the heat recovery ventilation system, and the geothermal heating combine to create a building that uses roughly one-third of the energy of a conventional chalet while maintaining perfect indoor comfort. It is also exceptionally quiet inside - the insulation eliminates external noise almost entirely. The design aesthetic is contemporary Swiss minimalism. Oiled oak floors run throughout, their warm tone softened further by underfloor heating. The limestone bathrooms are cut from a single quarry near Fribourg. The locally quarried stone fireplace, a feature in the main living area, provides both heat and a visual anchor - the stone is a blue-grey granite that echoes the rock faces visible from the terrace. Four bedrooms are arranged on two levels. The master bedroom has a walk-in dressing room and a private terrace; the three additional rooms share a landing area that doubles as a library and reading nook with mountain views. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, blackout blinds, and individual temperature controls. The Savoleyres side of Verbier is preferred by intermediate skiers and families. The runs are wide, well-groomed, and less crowded than the main Medran-Mont Fort axis. The gondola from Savoleyres connects to the 4 Vallees network, giving access to Nendaz, Veysonnaz, and Thyon when you want more terrain. The three-minute walk from the chalet to the gondola is flat and paved - feasible in ski boots without difficulty. The south-facing sun terrace is the chalet's social hub on clear days. Verbier's south-facing orientation means that properties on this side of the valley catch sunlight from mid-morning until the sun drops behind the Combins in late afternoon. A heated outdoor jacuzzi sits at the terrace edge, and the barbecue area is used for informal lunches when the weather cooperates - which in Verbier is more often than people expect.
