Casa San Lorenzo sits in the geographic centre of Ibiza, equidistant from every coast and surrounded by the agricultural landscape that tourists rarely see. The property occupies 5 acres of almond orchards and red earth fields in the hills above San Lorenzo, a hamlet of fewer than 200 residents that is home to Ibiza's only remaining traditional ball pages dance troupe. The nearest beach is 20 minutes in any direction, and that distance from the coast is central to the property's character. The house was designed by a Dutch couple who spent two decades in architecture before relocating to Ibiza. Their approach combined a traditional finca footprint - single storey, thick stone walls, internal courtyard - with contemporary interventions: a concrete roof that appears to float above the walls, creating a continuous clerestory window that floods the interior with diffused light. The furniture is a curated mix of vintage Iberian pieces and contemporary Dutch design, with a strong emphasis on craft and natural materials. Four bedrooms surround the central courtyard, each accessed from a covered cloister. The courtyard itself is planted with a single mature orange tree and contains a stone fountain that circulates water from the property's own well. The layout enforces a monastic calm: to reach any bedroom, you pass through the courtyard and its orange-scented air. A 16-metre pool sits beyond the courtyard wall, oriented north-south to receive sun from morning until late afternoon. The pool terrace is paved in local stone and furnished with oversized daybeds under linen canopies. Beyond the pool, the land drops away through almond trees to a valley that turns white with blossom each February. The kitchen is professional-grade and open to the main living space, reflecting the owners' belief that cooking is a social activity. A resident chef prepares lunch and dinner using produce from the on-site kitchen garden, the San Lorenzo farmers who sell directly from their fincas, and the fish market in Santa Eulalia. Breakfast is self-service from a stocked pantry. San Lorenzo's central location makes every part of the island accessible: Benirras beach is 15 minutes north, Las Salinas 20 minutes south, and Ibiza town 15 minutes east. The hamlet itself has a single bar, a whitewashed church, and the kind of unhurried pace that has disappeared from the coastal towns.
