Villa Chianti occupies the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region, equidistant from Florence and Siena along the ancient Via Chiantigiana. The property is a 16th-century fattoria - a fortified farmhouse that once served as the administrative centre for a larger agricultural estate. Its stone walls, watchtower, and internal courtyard reflect its defensive origins, while the interiors have been restored to a standard that marries historical character with contemporary luxury. The property produces its own Chianti Classico from 5 hectares of Sangiovese vines that surround the house. The cellar, cut into the hillside beneath the watchtower, holds 3,000 bottles including verticals of the estate's production dating back to 1998 and a curated selection of Super Tuscans from neighbouring producers. Guided tastings with the resident sommelier are available daily. Seven bedrooms are distributed across the main house and the converted limonaia (lemon house). The main house holds five bedrooms on two floors, all with stone walls, chestnut beams, and terracotta floors. The master suite occupies the watchtower's upper level, circular in plan, with 360-degree views over the vineyards. The limonaia, originally a greenhouse for citrus trees, has been converted into two suites with arched glass walls that flood the rooms with light. The pool sits on a terrace among the vines, with a view corridor south toward the towers of San Gimignano on clear days. An olive grove of 200 trees produces the estate's own oil, pressed each November at a local frantoio. The chef incorporates both the wine and oil into menus that follow the Tuscan seasons: ribollita and cinghiale ragu in winter, panzanella and grilled bistecca in summer. Greve in Chianti, the unofficial capital of the region, is 15 minutes north. Florence is 40 minutes by car; Siena is 35 minutes south. The property can arrange private tours of neighbouring estates including Castello di Ama, Fontodi, and Isole e Olena.
