Villa Cannes

Villa Cannes occupies a commanding position in La Californie, the hillside neighbourhood above Cannes where Picasso lived and where the city's most valuable residential real estate concentrates. The house was built in the 1930s as a winter residence for a British industrialist and has passed through several prominent owners since. The current incarnation, following a two-year renovation completed in 2023, combines Art Deco bones with contemporary luxury. The view from the rooftop terrace encompasses the entire Bay of Cannes: the Croisette curving along the waterfront, the Iles de Lerins floating offshore, and the red rock of the Esterel massif glowing at sunset. A jacuzzi and a bar with built-in refrigeration occupy the rooftop, making it the natural destination for sundowners and late evenings. Eight bedrooms are arranged across four floors, connected by both a central staircase and a glass-enclosed elevator. The master suite occupies the third floor with a private terrace, a dressing room, and a bathroom with double rain showers and a freestanding tub with a bay view. Four bedrooms on the second floor share a communal lounge. Two garden-level bedrooms open onto the pool terrace, and a staff bedroom is discreetly positioned on the ground floor. The private cinema, installed in the former wine cellar, seats 12 in leather recliners with a 3-metre screen and Dolby Atmos sound. A games room adjacent to the cinema includes a billiard table and a bar. The swimming pool, 16 metres long, sits in the garden below the house, surrounded by palm trees and Mediterranean plantings. A resident chef and butler manage the property, with additional staff available during the Cannes Film Festival and other peak events when the villa is in particular demand. The Croisette and its beaches are a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk downhill. The old port of Cannes, with Le Suquet hill and the covered market, is 10 minutes on foot. Nice airport is 25 minutes east.
